Creator economy is appealing more to the youths and many are interested in becoming their own boss. This means lots of them would want to leave the corporate world behind them. Many people are going full time online business and content creation because they are paid more than most corporations and the barriers to entry are zeroes to none. One may ask where is your stats? Well, ask any young people about the career choices they are making and would realise most of them want to live a comfortable lifestyle without the stress of 9-5 jobs. Watching most online content creators giving breakdown of social media platforms pay them annually which at times are far more than others would make their whole life working regular jobs.
But going full time as digital nomads seems easy but it is not simple. Although content creation has some benefits such as money, fame, freedom from job seeking and many more, there are setbacks which often the hidden cost many people ignore. These people even though their initial plan might be to escape the 9-5s they soon realise it’s hard to switch off content creation from their minds which many are working 24/7. This comes with both physical and mental health issues because they're constantly working without any breaks or leaves. The social media mostly rewards those who are consistent which means people to continue the supply chain for them and they are ready to pay. The pay sometimes are based on the performance of creator’s videos which means the payment is not consistent with the efforts invested in if consumers i.e views or followers don’t patronise your content enoug.
