Self-doubt is holding most us back
Self-doubt can be described to be the difficulty to be sure of yourself and the inability to state clearly your competence. Many of us are bedevilled with self-doubt and we always second-guess ourselves because we think we are not worthy of certain praises and thus, robbing ourselves of inner fulfilment. This often has knock-on effects on our emotions as well as our creativity because we don't think anything worth could come from us. Most of us acquired this habit from the environment we grew up in and the associations we keep over the years. For example, when growing up and you're be scolded with insults of worthlessness, hopeless and a 'mistake child’, you would gradually take on this self-identity because that's what you have been told most of your life and it is easy to assume nothing good can come from you.
No matter your circumstances, I believe there are some uniqueness in all us irrespective of the negativity we have been inundated most part of our lives. It is about time you come out of that cocoon of self-doubt that has been hindering you from expressing your truest creative selves in the best positive manner that can benefit your family, your community, your nation and the world at large. Moreover, you might find the strength and satisfaction to move forward by doing exactly that.
You have many dreams to achieve but your hurdles between them, actualising them is self-doubt, and if this is true to you, I just want you to know that you are not alone in doubting yourself. Even great men and women of history at a point in their lives, I think they had to face same obstacles and the difference between these people and us is they were able to overcome it, and became makers of history. Do you want to make history today? Then I encourage you not to be too harsh on yourself, and surround yourself with people and materials, such as books, podcast, videos and audios that can unearth your potentials and creative sides while overcoming self-doubting situations.
I wish you well on this journey. Go and make history because you can surmount your self-doubt.
