Don’t Beat Yourself Up
These days when you look online and see many happy endings of people, it feels like you are the only person failing in life. But life online can be an illusion of the realities ordinary people face because most people on the Internet don’t upload their failures, and some of the technologies are built to remove any blemish even on our faces.
Focus on your dreams and work towards them judiciously. When you fail on some of them, learn from them and move on to the next goal because the clock of life never rewinds; it goes forward. Failures are an aspect of life like successes; we cannot accept one and ignore the other.
Break your goal into smaller achievable ones. Look, a year has twelve months; each of these months is further divided into weeks and days. We must try to be diligent in achieving the smaller goals to develop the habit towards the bigger ones. If it is difficult to concentrate on any task ahead of you, think about the cause. If the root cause is something within your control, such as a distraction from social media, try to give yourself a break or eliminate it.
Seek help when the going gets tough. Sometimes it would not take anything away from us to ask people to help us with their experience, resources, advice, and time. We must be teachable to tap into the wisdom of others. When you’ve learnt all there’s to acquire and get the help you need, and you are successful, don’t forget to help others.
